Artist statement

Form, light, transparency, and layering play a significant role in my work. For my three-dimensional pieces, I use rice paper, papier-mâché and porcelain, treating these materials to achieve a consistent translucency and aesthetic quality.
My two-dimensional work is characterized by the use of mixed media techniques.

As part of my creative process, I conduct careful research into various materials and their combinations to understand how they interact and what possibilities arise from those interactions.

New possibilities emerge beneath my hands—possibilities that continue to surprise even me. Experimentation is central to this process.
Eventually, there comes a moment when the technical aspects have been sufficiently explored; I then step back—creating distance in both space and time—to allow the necessary calm and room for the artwork to take shape.

The act of making—of bringing something into existence using various materials—is a fundamental need for me. The creative process grants me freedom. Each piece is a journey of discovery into visualized stories or imaginary worlds.

Contemporary themes, such as the climate, can also serve as inspiration for my work.
Participating in projects alongside other artists stimulates me; it yields new insights and themes while fueling my imagination.
